For any church who is going through renovations and/or building projects. If you have a day care/nursery school, after school program and any construction workers will be in the building during the time children/youth are there, you should make sure that all of the workers have both the PA State Police background check and the Child Abuse check. You will need to work this out with the contractor who hires, utilizes workers and/or who sub-contracts the work. This can very easily be done before the construction contracts are signed. In fact, if construction companies do work in schools, they must already have these clearances. Therefore, it should not be a big deal. You should make sure that this is spelled out in the contract.
